Summer Tips: Stay Safe in the Heat

Summer is heating up and temperatures are soaring here in Indiana. Here are a few tips on how to keep your car and your family safe during these summer heat waves.

  • Regularly check your vehicle’s coolant, hoses, belts, tires, oil, battery, air filters, and fuel filter to prevent inconvenient breakdowns.
  • Keep liquids, preferably water, with you in the car to keep you and your passengers hydrated.
  • Keep an emergency kit in your car in case of a breakdown: include a flashlight, first aid kit, tool kit, road flares or cones, emergency food, and a cell phone.
  • Make sure not to leave your pet in the car, even with the windows down. Temperatures still soar inside a car in the summer, even with the windows cracked.

Make sure to follow these easy steps and stay safe this summer. Indiana Jiffy Lube is always ready to help you get the preventative maintenance your vehicle deserves. Just drive on in and we would be thrilled to help get your vehicle through the summer.
